Larger Difficulty in Regulation of Agriculture

2016-12-09

The Research Center for Rural Economy, under the Ministry of Agriculture, pointed out in the Report on 2010 Policy Implementation in Rural Areas, issued yesterday, that this year's overall agricultural price obviously rose, with market price fluctuating dramatically in some varieties. However, due to abnormal climate change, expected inflation intensifying, rising costs, international price transmission, idle fund speculation and other factors, it is more difficult to regulate the market.

Song Hongyuan, Director of the Research Center for Rural Economy under the Ministry of Agriculture, said, ' in terms of this year's agricultural production and market demand and supply situation, the major agricultural production had stable development, a basic balance between supply and demand, increasing gaps between production and demand for varieties like soybean, cotton and sugar. The overall rising trend of agricultural price is obvious, with market price fluctuating dramatically in some varieties; abnormal climate change, expected inflation intensifying, rising costs, international price transmission, idle fund speculation and other factors, making it more difficult to regulate the market.

In addition, Song Hongyuan said the income growth rate of farmers is expected to hit 8% in 2010 attributing to the rising of agricultural price and salary. Specifically, rice, wheat and other major agricultural price will rise, creating good conditions for the income to increase. The number of rural labor transfers and the salary level show a "Double Rising" trend, with salary income contributing to 49.8% of the total income growth for farmers. In addition, benefiting from the national policies, the transfer income of farmers will grow quickly, while the property income becomes the new growing point for farmers. Therefore, it is expected that the farmers' income will grow to 8%.
